As .com domains signify a domain name for a commercial entity, the YouTube founders chose for their video service. The domain was registered on 14 Feb 2005.

In November 2006, Google bought YouTube for $1.65 Billion and included it as one of its subsidiaries.

In 2009, Google launched domain name. As we explained earlier – the .be stands for Belgium.

In 2010, YouTube was serving over 2 billion videos each day.

As of the year 2014, over 300 hours of videos were uploaded every minute to YouTube.

Users of YouTube can Upload, Share, view, rate, add to favorites, report, and comment on videos.

According to Alexa, YouTube is now the second most visited website in the world, with over 15 billion monthly visitors.
